Grab a pen n’ paper for highlights n’ goals!

Instead of making resolutions at the beginning of every year, I make a list of my highlights from the past year and goals for the upcoming year. It’s fun listing highlights because it forces you to remember some things you might have forgotten. I like looking back on my goals every year…I find that I always complete all but a few. 2013 was a great year and I have big plans to make 2014 even better!

Responsibility.

Many people ask the secret to weight loss, achieving fitness goals, or achieving any goals for that matter.

The answer to that question is simple.

The answer to that question is just one word.

Responsibility.

You are responsible for your own success. You are responsible for your own failure. You don’t have anybody to blame, no excuses to make…if you want something, it is up to you to make sure you get what you want. Whatever your goal may be, remember that it is YOUR goal, not somebody else’s. You are aiming for those goals to better yourself so don’t rely on others to help you get there. Rely on yourself. You are the only person that can help you get there. Sure, it’s nice to have a support system but ultimately, it is your responsibility to follow through.

Ever heard of the phrase “nothing worth having ever comes easy?” Sure you have. It might be cliché but, boy, is it true.

Be accountable for your actions. Take responsibility. You are responsible for your own success and failure.
